The Journey Back Up and Accessible

Apologies for temporarily locking down my blog. Our church is (you may have surmised) going through an extremely contentious time and I discovered that my blog came up on the first page of Google if one were searching the below topic. Like others have done, I struggled a bit with the idea that my anonymous blog might become a stop for some in my "real life" whom I don't really want reading my deepest darkest.

But -- again, like PB and I think Cuumbaya and whomever else, I came to say, "So what?" In the immortal words of Popeye, I yam what I yam.

And thanks to the sometimes ranting, sometimes meandering Rev for pointing out the obvious sense of humor in G-d. (A tip of the hat to his "other" religion.)

I'm back. A new post will be posted forthwith. Prithee. Aye, aye.

Blogs are a new thing under the sun, so to speak. We are just figuring out what they mean to our ministries. We know for sure that they're amazing tools of evangelism, and that's a good thing.

My personal rule is to be ready to explain, defend or discuss anything I write to anyone who inquires, and to assume that they will. If you blog with integrity (and you do), you have nothing to apologize for.

My own rule is never to blog about church life very specifically, because I don't think it's fair to any congregation to have a minister who airs their frustration in this medium. I think pastors who do that will live to regret it. I'm all for lifting up the veil of pastoral perfection, but I think too many bloggers have ripped it away, leaving the impression that we're a bunch of snarky malcontents. 'taint very gracious.

Just my five pennies' worth.

I'm so relieved to read this! After I linked back to your site I worried that I'd sent crazies your way or that I'd offended you somehow. I know I'm a relative 'stranger' here. Anyway... Just glad that was all MY insecurity. ;)
