Everybody's Doing It ...

The Deist is. And Lazy Buddhist. And the BFF-DRE.

So ... okay. After putting up with (she says with a grin) the BFF-DRE sweating and stressing and drinking far too much Starbucks every November, I'm going to do it, too. Nanowrimo.

Little Warrior is supposed to end treatment on October 31. Perfect timing, that?

I will tell her story. No, that's not true. Only she can tell her story. I will tell my story, about her journey.

It is not about telling a story, or writing a novel. It's about dumping, dumping, dumping, all that has been inside me for the past 3 years. So that I can slow down the constant processing of it all. So that I can make some room in there for my others kids, and my husband, and oh yeah, me.

This might be the best therapy I can get.

I'm doing it, too, and I'm writing about the breast cancer journey. Perhaps we can compare notes on the way.

I think I want to do it too - telling the story of caring and losing my parents

Hi. Nice to meet you, fellow NaNo-mer. :) Even though I'm not going to be writing about me, per se, I have found that just thinking about the writing has been terribly therapeutic, and are I say, exciting.

I'd love it if you were to be my NaNo buddy - I'll be writing as, what else, LazyBuddhist.

Yeay nano-uus! Me, too. I am writing like a freakin' maniac to tie up loose ends in last years book. But ahh...whats one more thing to do.

We're all gonna enjoy the happy end of your book L.E.

I have always wanted to do it, but something always distracts me and gets in the way. I congratulate you on doing it, and on such a personal subject. Excellent!

I had not heard of this before!

Hey, I thought of you today. Someone sent this blog to me, and I almost wet my pants laughing. I am NOT in a good mood, but I couldn't help myself. You have the same twisted sense of humor I do, so I hope you like it.

Enjoy. Hang in there. I am thinking about you guys.

I will do it one year, but not while I have six classes in seminary...

I have to have at least one Science Fiction Novel in me somewhere...

Yours in Faith,

David

Long response to everyone ... don't get used to it, it'll prob never happen again ...

Kristina, goodwolve: yay, us. I am stocking up on kleenex, how about you?

LazyBuddhist: once I figure out how to set up buddies, we're buds.

Kari: Okay, you're good. I imagine once Dec. 1 hits, I'll put it away and never get back to looking at it.

Michael: Thanks! You write beautifully, so I'm sure there will come the year when you can't resist the peer pressure, too. ;)

Nancy: And speaking of fabulous writers ... along with everything else in your full, FULL life ... oh man, you should be doing this. Just because your writing is so good.

David: That's exactly why I'm doing it this year. I plan to be back in seminary in January ... for about the next 10 years. Okay, I exaggerate. 6 years. So I figure this is the last November where it's even remotely possible.

Oh good, I'm glad you're doing it. Yours is one of the few blogs I check immediately when it's refreshed on my bloglines. I've done nanowrimo for the past two years - it really is a good exercise.
