The Boy and I just watched the Compassion Forum with Clinton and Obama. I noted that at least three times, she emphasized that she has been a Christian since she was a little girl.
Coincidence?

Wow. That is pretty tacky. Some of the biggest names in Christianity weren't Christians as children. What does that even mean?
Mary Ann - really?! That is a new one on me. Wow. Something is seriously wrong with people in this country ... when one presidential candidate can be "accused" of really being a Muslim, and another can be accused of being a Wiccan, and these are supposed to be smears that turn people against them!
I live in a lot of worlds. The suburbs. A Unitarian Universalist Church. Ministry. Mommy group. Missional Theology. Childhood cancer land. I write about all of it here.

It means "I'm an apple pie American just like you, and I've clung to religion myself and won't judge you for doing so."

I still love what Maya Angelou wrote that she says to people who announce they are Christian. "Already?"
Seems the best response to me.
Well, no, I don't think it's undleiberate, particularly since Senator Clinton has been labeled as Wiccan by people who think that's an accusation.

Wait, wait, wait ... am watching the debate right now and trying to envision Hillary doing the Spiral Dance ...
Hmm. Maybe. But when she raises her arms up to draw down the moon, she starts laughing self-consciously.
;)

who has heard the Hillary-is-a-Wiccan as well. It's a nice break from the C word.
